For people who are far from the world of design and modern technology, when the word "fireplace" in their heads appears the image of an old, brick fireplace, with a huge chimney, and this fireplace is kindled with firewood. But time does not stand still. Now the fireplaces look completely different.
Of course, in old English (and not only, of course) houses you can still find fireplaces made of stone. However, designers have long been offering us completely different versions of them. Let's say Cedric Ragot has created a fireplace that doesn't need any chimney. Even without it, the fireplace, named "Burn Out", will be able to perfectly warm and warm up your home - be it an apartment or a country house.
It is made of wood and steel, and, perhaps, it is this combination that helps to warm the house well. This winter is not too cold, but this is all because we are in our apartments. But in the country you can't do without a heater. But let it be a better fireplace, moreover, modernized and so elegant.

My home is my skateboard: home for real skateboarders
In a skateboarder's dwelling, there should be no place for right angles: the original floors should smoothly merge into the walls so that you can roll along them even to the ceiling. An unusual room (either a house or a skate platform) was created by the architect François Perrin, designer Gilles Lebon Delapointe and professional skater Pierre-André Senisergue. The PAS project (according to the athlete's initials) allows you not to lose your skill and train even on the way from the couch to the sink. You can see the wonderful interior in the La Gaite Museum in Paris

A mammoth vacuum cleaner, a gramophone bird and a garbage shredder lizard … I think many people immediately remembered the American comedy cartoon about the life of Fred Flintstone and his friends in the Stone Age. Now true fans of this story have a unique opportunity to settle in an unusual house, where the interior from the popular TV series has been completely recreated. True, the mansion costs a fortune - $ 3.5 million
Guest from the Fireplace: Fairy Drawings by Courtney Brims
26-year-old Australian artist Courtney Brims is an interior designer by profession, but she has been drawing fabulous pencil drawings for three years now. The world created by the artist is like a dream: here you have people lost in time and space, and strange creatures like living balls on thin legs, and fabulous animals. And what is interesting - they are all interconnected: branches with young foliage sprout from objects and people, strands of hair are intertwined with piano keys and the yarn from which it is made

What the cult Soviet textbook on home economics told about, and why modern children do not understand it
In the seventies, a very special story with a sequel began to be printed in the Pioneer magazine. She was supposed to teach pioneers and pioneers the intricacies of home life and cooking, self-care and etiquette, but also - in it there was a fairy tale and sometimes difficult relationships of heroes, which could be followed like a modern TV series. The story was called "The Academy of House Wizards", and now it is considered a cult among lovers of Soviet children's literature. But just like that, from the podra
