Timothy Karpinski, a 30-year-old resident of Portland, loved to skateboard, build fortresses and build dams as a child. And then he became interested in science, books, music. And finally, I learned to express my thoughts in creativity. The young dreamer found his own voice, created his own style - and turned into a real artist. But at the same time he did not give up his childhood hobbies: Timothy Karpinski still loves a skateboard, good books and piano sounds, and also dreams of going on a trip around the world across the seas and waves. In the meantime, from time to time, he travels to the world of childhood created by him. And makes dreamy color illustrations out of paper.
Creativity is exactly the case when everything that is created can be used against you. However, maybe - and in your favor. “My work betrays me headlong,” says Timothy Karpinski. “Everything I do reflects my worldview, my enthusiasm for the Universe and attempts to understand life, as well as find my place in it.”
Creativity for Timothy Karpinski is a kind of visual diary that helps you collect your thoughts and record life observations. The future author of wonderful color illustrations had a need to constantly construct something as a child: then he built fortresses - then he began to create art installations. And over time, he ventured to open his own gallery "Together" - and made the right decision.
The artist manifests his love for arranging space even in moments of laziness (it is true that it is politically correct to say “procrastination”, but this does not change the essence). So, when the work is not going well, Timothy Karpinski begins to shaman, arranging things on the table according to feng shui and building turrets from them. The artist's attempts to organize the external world, apparently, are actually called upon to streamline his thoughts - the internal world.
And there is something to arrange. Timothy Karpinski admits that he often daydreams and sleeps with his eyes open, and more than anything else he is afraid of a fixed working day: from call to call. It would be strange to expect something different from the author of color illustrations, which masterfully recreate the magical atmosphere of a happy childhood.
