Why is it said that Dutch designers have the most memorable projects? Although what can I say - the Dutch are generally very creative people! And a lot is evidence of this.

If we look at the work of famous Dutch designers such as Marcel Wanders, Hella Jongerius and others, we can see that the emphasis is on practicality. Of course, all designers are trying to make their things beautiful, attractive, interesting, but you cannot forget about practicality. Therefore, the designers from the Dutch company Platform 21 decided to announce something like a manifesto - “Stop reworking! Start fixing!"

However, the company, as you understand, was not limited to one slogan. They organized a competition, a competition for the most interesting design, but the condition was one and the most important - the thing must be repaired in one way or another. Therefore, the competition was named "The Most Memorable Fix". More than sixty different letters with projects were received, among which were both completely funny and quite useful and applicable ideas in everyday life. Of course, we will not be able to tell about each project for obvious reasons. But we will name the ones we like most, show and describe.

For example, what to do if a partition has broken at the entrance of a house or on a balcony, or rather, not the partition itself, but one of the beams has mysteriously disappeared. Anonymous sent this option - you can easily put in its place an umbrella that matches the height and color! It would seem that this is such a trifle, but the umbrella will look better than the so-called "hole in the fence"? But it's really easy to deal with such a hole, I don't think that this same anonymous person did not sleep at night, but came up with this idea. There are more pressing problems. For example, pipes cannot last forever. If the pipe, as shown in the figure, has fallen apart in half, then under the windows of the house there will be not just a puddle, but a real flood! Such disorder must be somehow dealt with, for example, Jaap van der Feer suggested putting a bottle on one end of the pipe in order to direct the collection of waste water directly into the pipe. Brilliant? Difficult to say, but useful - for sure!

There are other examples as well. Let's say your lamp broke - it didn't even break, but literally broke almost in two. Is this a problem? Cindy Wouters, who is by no means a designer, offers the easiest option - to pick up a thread and a needle and sew up anything that looks inappropriate. The method is extremely simple in execution, and therefore the final result looks imperfect. But on the other hand, the lamp does not have to be thrown away! Although not every housewife will agree to this.

But what are we all about household items and the interior. It's time to move on to clothes! Oh, here hand-made took its firm place - everyone who is not lazy is engaged in it. Standard situation - jeans on the knee are torn. Someone will prefer to leave it that way, because in our time it is also fashionable, another will sew a patch and even brighter - so that everyone decides, as if it was originally intended. But someone named Marcel van der Drift found his way out, his own solution to this problem. He decided that it would be much more logical to attach a zipper instead of a patch to the holes! The system turns out to be very convenient. Here is what the creator himself writes: “When the zipper is zipped, I look decent. When it's unbuttoned, I look cool. You can also add that the lightning provides and … ventilation! If you get very hot, she can save you a little bit.

But with jeans the choice is really big - we have the right to do whatever we want. But with a sweater, for example, things are more complicated. If he lost his shape, began to "hang" on you, or, conversely, to tighten the body too tight, or maybe everything is much simpler - a small hole has appeared on it … throwing it out is not at all necessary. Calypso Schuijit goes the other way - it just takes scissors and begins to turn an almost useless thing into a rather interesting piece of clothing, albeit with slits, so that it can only be worn over something. The sweater has definitely become looser!

And the last project can only be attributed to humor. What's there - clothes, lamps, sewers. Here's what to do with a broken hammer ?! Liaf Lijberts performs a completely unpredictable action - instead of the usual straight and even handle, it attaches some kind of snag to the hammer, claiming that this is how the hammer has become stronger! One cannot disagree with this statement, but here we are not talking about convenience …
