2024 Author: Richard Flannagan | [email protected]. Last modified: 2023-12-15 23:55
Brooklyn-based artist Jimmy Miracle creates amazing installations using multicolored threads from various found objects. His works seem surprisingly light, but the author assures that in fact they have a deep meaning.
Talking about his work, Jimmy Miracle quotes the words of the American philosopher Arthur Danto: “Art communicates an indefinable but inevitable meaning,” and assures that this principle is central to his work. “Life is dead if it is not filled with meaning,” the author believes. And in search of meaning, he uses the simplest and most everyday materials in his work: in order to draw attention not to their appearance, but to the content.
Jimmy is sure that the deep essence of things hidden from our eyes is the best that the viewer can find in his installations. What kind of meaning is inherent in each work of Miracles - the author does not reveal. It is likely that it will be different for everyone.
Jimmy Miracle lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. The 27-year-old artist graduated from Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts. For two years, from 2006 to 2008, Jimmy worked as an assistant artist at Jeff Koons' studio. You can see more of his work on the author's website.
