Video: Patterns in the Sand by Andres Amador

San Francisco artist Andres Amador works with one of the largest canvases available: strips of beaches filled with his art. Unfortunately, the sea is a critic who does not know how to recognize real masterpieces, and as soon as the artist finishes his amazing work, the waves erase it completely.
Using a canvas prepared by the elements, the patient American waits for a full moon or a new moon, so that the ebb will give him some space to create unique patterns. And just a few hours after the creation of huge drawings, the water completely washes away all the curves and contours from the beach, as if nothing had happened here.
Despite the fact that all the artist's efforts are mercilessly erased by the rising sea water, he claims that he is not worried about this. It is enough for him that people have the opportunity to see his work and photograph them.
Andres plans to travel around the world to see other beaches, where he can use the natural features of the relief (such as rocks) to enhance his drawings.

For example, the artist Andres Amador prefers to paint his paintings … with a rake on a wet beach at low tide. As a result, the image is stretched to an area of up to 10,000 square meters, and the beach itself begins to resemble an art gallery

Regular readers of Cultural Studies and connoisseurs of non-standard contemporary art will surely remember those mysterious drawings on snow fields by Simon Beck, similar works of Sonja Hinrichsen, sand drawings by the master of land art under the pseudonym Evewright, which look like signs and symbols left by those who are watching us from space. One grain of sand, two grain of sand: Gary Greenberg's mesmerizing macro photography
Probably every child knows that there are no two identical snowflakes in the world (and "Culturology" talked about snow under a microscope in Kenneth Libbrecht's photo project). But other micro-objects are no less amazing. A series of shots by American Gary Greenberg shows ordinary grains of sand in all their glory. If you look very closely, armed with special equipment, it turns out that we are trampling the most beautiful stones and do not even notice it
