It would probably be boring to live in a world where all items would be used strictly for their intended purpose. Take, for example, ordinary plastic straws. Drinking juices or cocktails through them is good. And if you add a little imagination, then you can create multi-colored sculptures from them, as does Annie Boyden Varnot from Brooklyn.

Like many other artists who use plastic in their work, the goal of Anne's art is to focus on the relationship between man and nature. Creating his vivid works, the sculptor is engaged in continuous research of how a person, in the process of his activity, influences nature, and how nature, modified under the influence of a person, in turn affects him.

The process of creating sculptures is, in general, uncomplicated. The author takes plastic tubes, cuts them to the desired length and holds them together with glue, resulting in sculptures of bizarre shapes and colors. The sculptor knows firsthand about the problems that Anne Boyden Varnot raises in her works. She herself suffered from such a serious illness as breast cancer, and claims that it was this difficult experience that inspired her to create such sculptures.
