How many times each of us, watching from the ground for an airplane flying across the sky, went on a journey with him, even if only in his dreams? And the photographer Jeffrey Milstein captures every such incident that happens to him on the camera, thus creating a series of amazing pictures.
It just so happened historically that taking pictures from a bird's-eye view is already something akin to art in and of itself. Especially if they are done very skillfully, and something bright and beautiful floated below at the time of filming.
But the American photographer Jeffrey Milstein has his own view of such work. He prefers to shoot not from the air, but from the ground. But at the same time, the height and atmosphere of flight is still felt in his works. After all, he takes pictures of aircraft!
If you ask Jeffrey Milstein what is his favorite place on Earth, he will probably say that this is the vicinity of the airport, where he can admire the airplanes flying overhead. And not just look at them, but also take pictures of these vehicles floating in the sky.
Jeffrey Milstein photographs civilian and military aircraft and helicopters in order to clear the background from the background, leaving only the aircraft in them, and present it to the public as a series of artistic photographs.
“In my works, I study the typology of various forms of modern aircraft, which, flying over our heads, seem to freeze in space. I remove the background from these photographs to express the complexity and beauty of the shape of these gigantic aluminum structures, which, despite their enormous size, can gracefully soar off the ground and return safely to it a few hours later in another part of the globe. My photographs of airplanes are an attempt to capture the wonderful and amazing feeling of our own vulnerability, which we all feel in the modern world,”- this is how Jeffrey Milstein explains the concept of his works.
