When pens were no longer used as writing tools, and recently they have not even been stuffed with pillows, representatives of the creative community came out to defend this material. We have already talked about the craftswoman Julia Thompsoncreating paintings on feathers. Our today's heroine Marina Nesterova has a slightly different situation: she also creates pictures, but not on feathers, but out of them.
Marina Nesterova lives in Donetsk. Pictures, in which instead of paints - feathers of birds, at first seem to be simply painted on canvas. But looking closer, you can see that this is a kind of applique, where each feather is matched in color and size. It is worth noting that Marina Nesterova does not use dyes: all the feathers she uses are natural.
Previously, the craftswoman was provided with materials by pet shops and bird breeders, but recently she has had problems. “There was a very nice parrot at a pet store who provided me with feathers for several years. But he died. Therefore, I closed my project related to the use of this material for the next three years,”says the author. It's surprising that the parrot could not find a replacement, but Marina undoubtedly understands this matter better than we do - so she knows better.
The creation of paintings from feathers is just one of the many skills of Marina Nesterova. The talented craftswoman perfectly embroiders, and also knows the techniques of ceramics, silk painting, floristry. For a long time she collaborated with the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry: her embroidered paintings were purchased as gifts for foreign ministers and ambassadors. The author's works are also in the collections of the presidents of Ukraine and Russia.
