Previously, photographers had to press the shutter release twice without scrolling the film to achieve the double exposure effect. This technique did not always work. And more often than not, the photo turned out, but a little not as planned before the shooting began. Today everything is much simpler. It is enough to create a separate series of photographs, which are planned to be combined and processed in the Adobe Photoshop program, combining two layers into one.
Moreover, modern capabilities allow not only to accurately combine certain places in the photo, but also to blur one of the frames, add a series of effects, reduce or enlarge the picture to the desired size.
Therefore, we can say that today a double exposure is not a manifestation of the photographer's skill, but the result of a computer program. Although, until now, film work in this style is valued much higher than digital images. And not everyone succeeds in creating a beautiful photo with the effect of double exposure on a film camera. Moreover, if you forget and do not scroll the film, a carefully staged frame will be lost.
If we talk about the advantages of Adobe Photoshop, then we must admit that an ordinary computer program can sometimes achieve such effects that no photographer can replicate.
