In a modern large city, we usually meet a bunch of nondescript objects, the mere sight of which spoils our mood. An interesting solution was found by the German artist Evol, who turned these objects into works of art using adhesive paper.
EVOL is the pseudonym for a Berlin-based street art artist. In a disgusting gray cityscape, he adds variety with adhesive paper. For her, he pastes over small flower beds, transformer boxes and other small nondescript urban objects, turning them into houses. When you walk through the city and come across small houses along the way, it seems that in a huge metropolis there is a small, calm town.
Each piece of paper glued to urban objects is a repeating pattern of a smooth gray wall with a straight window frame. Attached to the wall, the piece takes the form of the wall of a small house. Often, in addition to walls and windows, a character appears in Evol's works. The artist did such things in many cities, and was often invited to galleries, where he made entire blocks of miniature buildings as part of installations, moving his original street art to the walls of the museum.
