Bento is the Japanese name for one-portion packaged food that mothers give to schoolchildren to school, and caring wives collect for their beloved husbands to work. Bento is not just lunch, it is a whole ritual, it is an art. It is known that in the East, an essential element of any meal is the beauty of serving, therefore, people are quite creative in preparing a traditional Japanese meal.
Typically, bento includes rice, scrambled eggs or scrambled eggs, meat, sausages, fish, seafood, legumes, several types of chopped raw or pickled vegetables in one box with a lid. As a dessert, apple or tangerine slices are usually added. Everything seems very simple. But in fact, not everything is as banal as it seems. After all, all these products are not just folded into boxes, which are also of different types and shapes, but whole edible pictures or small scenes on a specific topic are formed from the products. It definitely raises their appetite, and it is especially fun and pleasant for children to try something unusual and tasty at the same time, and sometimes show off to their friends about their skillful brake.
The Japanese took the art of Bento to incredible heights. The result is visually so good that sometimes it is even a pity to eat such beauty and there is a desire to preserve it in memory, but the feeling of the head takes strength, and then the hungry Japanese gobbles everything up by both cheeks.
In Japan, there are even competitions for the best serving and the most beautiful design of traditional dinners, which depict celebrities, animals, popular cartoon characters or just beautiful funny weirdos.
