Anne Brenneke is a fashion designer by profession, but she is a creative genius in spirit who created the amazing Life After Death Quilts project. This is a series of patchwork paintings created from old clothes. The designer found an unusual application for things that were already needed and stale and created amazing patchwork posters that visitors of exhibitions in many European cities admire.
The paintings, hand-stitched by Anna Brennecke, feature rap legends such as Eazy-E, The Notorious B. I. G., Big L and J Dilla. It takes weeks to create one poster from scraps of old clothes. This is extremely painstaking and hard work. After all, everything needs to be carefully measured, the right color scheme should be chosen, and all this should be stitched beautifully and neatly in layers.
Within 18 months of handcrafting, using raw materials such as T-shirts, shirts and knitted sweaters, Anna Brennecke produced strikingly large and colorful paintings of famous rap and hip-hop legends.
