Just as in the family of ordinary, unremarkable people, a genius is suddenly and unexpectedly born for everyone, so simple, unremarkable things can turn into real masterpieces that the whole world will admire and admire, and the author can applaud while standing. So, just yesterday we wrote about enchanting pictures-photographs drawn with a simple pencil on plain white paper, and today the focus is on black paper, and an artist armed not with a pencil, but with scissors. And here they are, graceful silhouettes from Joe Bagley … Despite the fact that Joe Bagley is an archaeologist by education, he decided to devote himself not at all to the specialty written in the diploma, but to a hobby, to which he devoted all his free time. Now the young man spends his free time on something else, and his hobby has turned into a favorite job, which brings not only pleasure, but also good money.
Black cardboard, scalpel and sharpened scissors are what the author needs to work. Well, another cup of coffee, silence, peace of mind and the presence of a muse. And she, I must say, very rarely leaves our hero, otherwise his creations would not have been so skillful, subtle, graceful. A couple of years of imitation, training, sampling - and now Joe Bagley has his own author's style, by which fans will recognize his work. Large format of silhouettes, only black paper and figures that can be inscribed in a triangle.
You rarely meet a person who would be so willing to give all of himself to his hobby. Joe Bagley says that he loves his work inside and out: from the very beginning, when the plot is just formed in the head and is getting ready to splash out on the paper, to the end, when you need to brush off the scrap and paper dust from the finished product in order to admire yourself and please others. Joe Bagley's silhouettes are often framed on a white sheet of paper to create a picture, and are presented for weddings, anniversaries and memorable dates. You can see all the author's work on his website Papercuts by Joe.
