The amazing style of this artist conquers immediately. The atmosphere of her drawings seems to be transferred through the screen into the room, you just have to take a closer look at them. Perhaps this is real art: when a person, using ordinary pencils and paper, which can be bought in any store, creates something completely special and beautiful.

Artist Maria Zeldis was born and lives in Mexico. She has never been to Russia, but her works (in my opinion) are surprisingly suited to our mentality and taste, among them there is a charming Orthodox girl lighting a candle in a church, and a young charming woman of Slavic appearance looking out the window, and much, much more.

Perhaps the secret is that the artist's favorite writer is Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, or maybe it's the all-pervading power of art, but Marie Zeldish's works immediately "sink" into memory. I want to take a closer look at each of her drawings, to take a closer look at each line.

The artist does not create anything shocking, her works are not intended to awaken public opinion or throw off the yoke of another hated power, and someone will even say: “Why are these works needed? daub, and against the background of Levitan and other masters, it is certainly lost! " But one can object to this with one very weighty argument: yes, perhaps Maria's paintings are inferior to the canvases of great masters, perhaps they do not smell of "acute socialism", but these works give people another reason to smile, escape from everyday problems and just enjoy the beauty of the world around them. And nowadays it is of great value.

And (almost certainly) in some art gallery these works looked even more impressive and would not be inferior even to the works of larger masters. It is immediately evident that all this was created with soul and talent, the artist is clearly not deprived. Thin, heartfelt canvases of the artist can rightfully be called a real art!

Critics say about Maria's works like this: “Zeldis's paintings are filled with feelings, they live and breathe. It is impossible to look away from the people depicted, they are incredibly beautiful in their individuality. Animals carry such tenderness and warmth … And even rare still lifes make you look at seemingly ordinary things in a completely new way."
