Marine biologist and underwater photographer from Russia Alexander Semyonov is working on a project of incredible, almost unearthly beauty, which is called Aquatilis … The project is aimed at exploring the depths of the seas and oceans, and in order to attract as much attention to it as possible, Alexander regularly publishes stunning pictures of underwater inhabitants on social networks, which are simply breathtaking.
As Alexander says, since the time of Jacques-Yves Cousteau, no one has tried to organize a new Odyssey, so a group of young scientists, divers and sailors decided to start their adventure armed with the most advanced photo and video equipment. - says Alexander Semyonov.
The photographs published by Semyonov show fragile jellyfish, beautiful and unusual. Such jellyfish cannot be studied in laboratory conditions or in an aquarium, as their bodies can simply fall apart from a single touch of a person. So all these photos were taken in the depths of the White Sea, right in the habitat of graceful sea creatures. By telling stories about the underwater inhabitants and showing their incredible beauty, the Aquatilis team hopes to raise funds to continue their research efforts.
Graceful underwater inhabitants became the protagonists of an unusual art installations in Liverpool: instead of an abandoned garage, a large glowing aquarium once appeared, filled with jellyfish, peacefully floating in the blue water.
