Video: Clash of cultures: Renaissance characters surrounded by fast food

Artist Rebecca Rütten combined the incompatible - painting of the Renaissance and modern fast food culture. The result of her photo manipulations is paintings in the spirit of traditional painting, in which people with soulful faces hold hamburgers and fries in their hands.
The author says she was impressed by the charisma and grandeur of the characters depicted in the paintings of the Renaissance. At the same time, the poor and the lower class posed for the artists. This discrepancy prompted her to create a cycle of works that would reflect the collision of two cultures.
For Rebecca Rütten, her friends posed, trying to copy the image of people from Caravaggio's paintings. The refined and dramatic atmosphere of the works carries something repulsive - the boxes with Chinese food, McDonald's sets and other fast food look so inappropriate in contrast to the beautiful draperies and verified poses of the models.
Renaissance lovers can also admire portraits of celebrities a la Renaissance.
