Personality scale Vladimir Vysotsky It is difficult to overestimate: during his short life, he managed to do what many have failed in 80 years. He was in a hurry to live, in a hurry to try his hand at various spheres of creativity. There are more than 30 films in his filmography, but few viewers know that they could see him in at least 50 more characters. This is evidenced by photo tests of Vladimir Vysotsky in those films in which he was never approved for the role.
The film debut of Vladimir Vysotsky could have taken place in 1958 - then the 20-year-old student was taking photo tests for the role of a border guard in the film "Over the Tissa". The attempt was unsuccessful, and Vysotsky got his first role only a year later, in the film by Vasily Ordyntsev "Companions", which became the leader of the box office in 1959 (although the role was episodic, and the name of Vysotsky was not even in the credits).
Vysotsky also did not get into the first film by Vasily Shukshin "Such a guy lives", which the actor himself commented like this: "". He was not destined to play the role of Nestor Makhno in the film by David Karapetyan - it did not go further than the script, and the film was never shot.
Vysotsky could have played a foreman in the film "Operation Y and Other Adventures of Shurik", but instead of him the audience saw Mikhail Pugovkin in this image. The director explained: "". Sometimes the cinematic leadership opposed the candidacy of the actor. For the role of Keshka in the film "Taiga Landing" he was not taken, because the director of "Mosfilm" issued the following verdict: "".
Vysotsky was not destined to play the role of the centurion Stepan in the famous film by Tarkovsky "Andrei Rublev", although he passed the audition. But this time the actor himself was to blame for the fact that he was removed from the role - he twice did not appear on the set at the appointed time due to excessive workload in the theater, and Tarkovsky did not forgive his actors for being unnecessary (according to another version, the director found out about the actor's alcohol addiction and did not want to work with him).
The arguments on which Vysotsky was denied roles were very different. They didn’t take him to the detective story “One of us”, as one of the members of the artistic council said: “”. And the artistic director of the Mosfilm film studio, Yuli Raizman, opposed his candidacy for the role of a sailor, which was written especially for Vysotsky, in the film Red Square with the following arguments: "". In addition, Vysotsky at this time left with Marina Vlady on a Black Sea cruise, and this role went to Sergei Nikonenko.
In 1969, Vysotsky missed the chance to star in Eldar Ryazanov's film Cyrano de Bergerac. The director planned to film the poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko in the title role. Having learned about this idea, Vysotsky himself turned to Ryazanov with a request to admit him to photo tests. After all, Yevtushenko was approved, but after he made another political statement, Ryazanov was given an ultimatum: either Yevtushenko or a film. And the director refused to shoot altogether.
In the film based on Mikhail Bulgakov's work "The Run", Vysotsky auditioned for the role of White General Charnota and for the role of Khludov, but other actors were approved instead - according to rumors, the filmmakers feared that Vysotsky might make the image of the White Guard too attractive.
Vysotsky had every chance of becoming Ostap Bender. Director Leonid Gaidai told: "". However, other sources claim that Vysotsky was removed from the role by order of the management of the film studio.
A dramatic story took place with Vysotsky's participation in the filming of the film "Sannikov Land". Mironov, Dal and Vysotsky were tried for the role of singer and adventurer Krestovsky. The poet wanted to play this hero so much that he even wrote several songs for the film: "White Silence", "The Ballad of the Abandoned Ship" and "Finicky Horses". However, the general director of "Mosfilm" forbade the filming of Vysotsky - just at that time a program about him was broadcast on the "Voice of America". As a result, Krestovsky was played by Oleg Dal. Vysotsky wrote about this to Govorukhin: "".
Vysotsky really wanted to get the main role in a film about Emelyan Pugachev and even specially grew a beard for this, but his candidacy was again rejected by his superiors. And this is despite the fact that the scientific consultant of the picture, seeing Vysotsky's photo test, said that this was the most accurate hit in the image, and after the poet was removed from the role, Vakhtang Kikabidze also refused to participate in the filming.
Fortunately, there were many roles in the filmography of the actor and poet: 10 movie heroes of Vladimir Vysotsky.
