Shopping and entertainment center "Khan Shatyr" - one of the architectural sights of Kazakhstan. He is famous, first of all, for the fact that it is a huge transparent tent with an area of 127 thousand square meters, which has no equal in the whole world. Secondly, “Khan Shatyr” is the only eco-building in the CIS, which was included in the top ten eco-buildings in the world in the rating of Forbes Style magazine.
Inside the Khan Shatyr complex there is a real paradise. There is everything for a family holiday: cafes and restaurants, gyms and swimming pools, playgrounds and parks. The highlight of the shopping and entertainment center is a real beach resort! All year round in "Khan Shatyr" is maintained at +35 degrees, tropical plants and sandy beaches create the atmosphere of a real fairy tale.
The giant awning organically complemented the architectural ensemble of the main square of Astana. During the day, the transparent tent serves as an excellent reference point for the residents of the city, and at night its dome turns into a lighthouse flashing with multi-colored illumination.
The Khan Shatyr complex was opened in 2010, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev called this project one of the most daring and modern architectural solutions. Literally “Khan Shatyr” is translated into Russian as “the tent of the khan, or the king”. Recall that Nazarbayev has led Kazakhstan since the country gained independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. By a decision of parliament in 2007, his presidential powers were extended indefinitely.
Despite the implementation of this large-scale eco-project (as already noted, Khan Shatyr is one of the best eco-constructions in the world), one should not forget that the main environmental problem of Kazakhstan is, of course, the drying up Aral Sea.

Huge vertical garden on the walls of an Italian shopping center
The idea of creating vertical gardens is not new: for the first time such unusual installations appeared in Paris in 1988. French botanist and designer Patrick Blanc came up with the idea of “turning” the angle of view of traditional green spaces exactly 90 degrees. Since then, this method of "greening" walls and roofs has been successfully used by many landscape designers, but the Italians turned out to be the real masters of their craft: on the walls of a shopping center in the city of Rozanno, they managed to size
