Turns out to be a cute puppet cutie Ken not as young as he looks. This year, the closest companion of the Barbie doll turns 50. This anniversary is dedicated to series of photostaken by a photographer Armin Morbach for the German edition of GQ magazine.
As we recently learned from some very bizarre photos from Mariel Clayton, Barbie may not be as perfect as it looks. This doll has its own dark side. What can not be said about her companion Ken, who for fifty years has not given the slightest reason to doubt his bright image. On the contrary, over the years it becomes more and more beautiful. And for his half-century anniversary, he was honored to appear on the pages of one of the most authoritative glossy magazines in the world - GQ, namely, its German version.
This project was initiated by photographer Armin Morbach and stylist Klaus Stockhausen, who created a series of magazine photographs in which they truly brought to life a charming doll named Ken.
The models for these photos were not the Ken and Barbie dolls themselves, but real people who were made up to look like these dolls. Subsequently, these images were processed to make the images even more similar to the originals. And so their real skin gleamed with plastic, and the primary sexual characteristics of a living male model were smoothed to the core.
This series of photographs for the German edition of GQ, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Ken doll, was sponsored by the world's largest fashion brands, which provided their clothes for models: Gucci, Calvin Klein and other "monsters" of the fashion industry.
