There are only two years left before the Summer Olympic Games in London. Therefore, the city is rapidly building the sports and hotel infrastructure necessary for this large-scale event. But not only arenas and hotels will be in London Olympic Park, but also many other objects, for example, the 115-meter sculpture ArcelorMittal Orbit.
Everyone can contribute to the preparation and holding of the London 2012 Olympics. The state and private investors are building sports facilities, hotels, road infrastructure. And ArcelorMittal decided to make its own gift to London - the largest structure in the UK called ArcelorMittal Orbit.
ArcelorMittal Orbit, designed by architect Anish Kapoor, will be located in the heart of the Olympic Park, next to the Olympic Stadium, which will host most of the Olympic events. Its height will be 115 meters - this is 24 meters below the Cheops Pyramid, but 38 meters above the Statue of Liberty in New York. Therefore, at the top of this sculpture there will be an observation deck, from where a stunning view will open not only of the Olympic Park, but also of a significant part of London.
Outwardly, the sculpture will resemble a roller coaster rolled into a ball. In any case, the structure of the building will have a lot in common with the structure of this attraction. It seems that Shukhov, as the creator of parabolic towers, would like this project very much.
The cost to create the ArcelorMittal Orbit sculpture is £ 19.1 million. Of these, 16 million will be allocated by the ArcelorMittal corporation, and 3.1 million by the London Development Agency. This giant sculpture will open, of course, in 2012, right for the Olympic Games.

Only the British agreed to provide shelter to the Romanovs, but later withdrew their invitation. The fatal role in this was played by the cousin of Nicholas II George V
