Mandala is a sacred symbol used in meditation in Buddhism and Hinduism. It implies unity, completion and wholeness. Figuratively speaking, it is a snapshot of time in the Universe from start to finish. As a rule, the mandala is depicted in the form of a circle, in which a square is inscribed, and in it, in turn, another circle is inscribed.

Traditionally, each artist's image is a circle and has three main qualities - these are center, symmetry and cardinal points pointing to north, south, west and east. In addition to this, each Diana Ferguson mandala contains a central source of "energy", which is indicated by golden lines radiating from the center. These "energy lines" of various colors and shapes have been a consistent element in the author's works since the time of her very first drawing.
