Statistics show that there are about 700 million people in the world whose physical capabilities are limited. Even ordinary daily activities for many of them are of great difficulty, and any creativity can run into an insurmountable obstacle created by nature itself or by an accident. This review contains the stories of artists who accomplished the almost impossible and overcame their illness for the sake of art.
Mariusz Kedzierski (Poland)
Despite the fact that Mariusz was born without arms, he has been doing what he loves since childhood - painting. Most of his works are portraits painted in a hyper-realistic manner. Looking at them, it seems that reality is blurred, and the drawing becomes a part of it. This feeling is further enhanced by observing the work of Mariusz, because every day he practically does the impossible.
Mariusz is not a talented self-taught person. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Wroclaw. His works are constantly exhibited and won prizes in prestigious competitions. He combines his creativity with travel. The artist has already traveled all over Europe:
Huang Guofu (China)
Juan became disabled at the age of 4 after an accident. He injured both hands with electric shock, and the doctors were forced to amputate. However, at the age of 12, the talented boy learned to paint with his feet and mouth, and since then this occupation has been the main business of his life. He himself believes that the turning point in his work came at the age of 18, when, due to his father's illness, Juan was forced to start selling his paintings. This forced the young artist to achieve even greater perfection in technique, and success came. Today, his paintings, painted in the traditional manner of Chinese painting, are in demand among collectors in many countries and are sold in great demand. In addition, Guofu was recently appointed Vice Curator of the Talent Museum in Chongjing Province.
Iris Grace Halmshaw (UK)
This ten-year-old girl is called a world famous artist by leading publishers. But besides the fact that she is an obvious child prodigy - she began to draw from the age of four, the young artist attracts public attention for another reason. The girl is sick with autism. Her abstract paintings are full of color and harmony. Art critics compare the young artist with Monet and predict a great future for her. But for Iris's parents, it is more important that it was thanks to drawing that the girl was able to express herself and establish communication with loved ones. Her mother describes the moment of Iris' acquaintance with the art world this way:
Paul Smith (America)
In 2007, at the age of 85, an artist passed away, proving that real talent will always find an opportunity to express itself. Paul Smith was born with cerebral palsy. All his life he was forced to use the help of other people in order to simply dress or eat. However, he learned to draw with … a typewriter. Rather, only ten symbols and one finger of the right hand. The creation of each painting could take him days, weeks or even months.
That being said, Paul never learned to read or write. It is even difficult to imagine this technique of execution, because the picture first had to appear completely in its finished form in the artist's head, and then be drawn line by line. By the way, here are the ten symbols with the help of which these amazing masterpieces are created: -! @ #% ^ _ (&). In total, Paul Smith has printed several hundred paintings. On them, he depicted people, animals, landscapes, drawings on religious themes and scenes from the Second World War.
Victorine Floyd-Fludd (America)
This unusual photo artist was born in the Caribbean and then emigrated to the United States. At the age of 26, the girl almost completely lost her eyesight, but friends helped her master a special photography technique. Today, Victorine is one of the few vision-impaired photographers in the world. She does her work in different styles, the most spectacular is “painting with light”. Of course, to assess the result, she is forced to resort to the help of other people, but the concept of each picture and its execution is entirely her author's work. By the way, besides photography, Victorin loves to sing, dance and cook.
Unfortunately, the scope of one article does not allow us to tell about all the courageous and talented people who go to their dreams, overcoming huge difficulties. For many decades, India and Pakistan were in a state of enmity, survived three wars. Armed clashes constantly arose at the border. Up to the present day, all this served as an irresistible prospect

Insane art. Pictures of people suffering from mental illness
Talented and mentally ill people are like two sides of the same coin. It is not for nothing that non-standard thinking, extraordinary, special people are called abnormal and crazy, and artists whose paintings do not fit into the generally accepted framework and remain incomprehensible to the viewer are advised to undergo a course of medication and psychotherapy. Of course, you can blame as much as you like on the narrow-mindedness and blinkeredness of such "advisers", but in some ways they are right. And to be convinced of this, you just have to look at the pictures
