The English painter and sculptor Rook Floro turns to psychology in his work. His new sculpture (a man and his double) is inspired by Carl Jung's teachings about the Shadow. Everything that does not agree with the image of each of us in society is, as it were, excluded from life and forms a Shadow. A strange sculpture of a man split in two tells about what is hidden and shows the soulmate of the character.
The sculptor Rook Floro from Birmingham depicts the drama of a man without integrity. The character is torn into two parts: one is who he is, the other is who he could be. “The shadow embodies the latent desire of each of us to be different, - says the author of the sculpture. “A man, alas, always feels the pressure on himself, which does not allow him to be different.”
A quite reasonable question arises: which of the noble dons is a man, and who is not? It would seem that a tall figure should cast a shadow. But it is somewhat amorphous: black needles stick out from the character's back. The main thing in sculpture is that both parts are united by the shadow itself - a dark path from the self to the secret, which does not always become obvious.
