A street artist wants to convey the thesis that beauty is fleeting. Rone … This Australian master recently completed a mural on the facade of a five-story building on Nollendorfplatz in Berlin. If you look closely at the portrait of the charming model Teresa Oman, you will notice paint smudges, as if the image is about to be washed away by rain.
Artist Rone hails from Melbourne, but his work can now be seen in different parts of the world: on the streets of Los Angeles, New York, London, Tokyo, Barcelona and Hong Kong. It took the artist five days to implement the Berlin street art project, during which time he created a kind of triptych, portraits of Teresa Oman, neatly painted on the walls, bypassing windows and balconies. The painted building houses the Strychinin Gallery, and its façade is clearly visible to everyone traveling by rail. So the townspeople will be able to admire the intriguing graffiti during their daily commute.
One of the hallmarks of Rone's work is his passion for painting portraits of glamorous young ladies on old houses with uneven walls and crumbling plaster. The artist is attracted by the contrast between the refined feminine beauty and the look of crumbling buildings. It is noteworthy that the portraits look perfect from a distance, while the flaws can be seen only when you come closer. Everything is like in life: it often happens that at first glance a person makes a much more pleasant impression than the one that develops with the interlocutor upon close acquaintance.
