Alice is never too much. Yes, yes, the very Alice who ran after the White Rabbit, talked with the Blue Caterpillar, drank tea with the Mad Hatter, and then ended up in the Looking Glass. Illustrations for the immortal work Lewis Carroll who just didn’t draw. This epidemic has not spared the Korean artist. Kim min ji, - her watercolor illustrations for the fairy tale occupy a worthy place in a long list of other authors. The artist's site is very stingy with information, at least for those who know the hieroglyphs. However, judging by the manner in which the watercolors are performed, it can be concluded that the artist studied somewhere in Europe, but, nevertheless, she tries to preserve the oriental, Asian flavor of her works, which is why some of her works resemble sketches for anime. However, this does not make them worse, but only acquire an individual, recognizable style.
Pure and transparent, soft and delicate, watercolor "alice" Kim Min Ji just ask to be on the pages of the book, to illustrate a fairy tale familiar from childhood, loved by many generations of alisomans. Of course, conservatives will object and twist their noses, they say, we do not need new pictures, you give old, classic and familiar ones. But the fairy tale, written by Carroll, is good because everyone can imagine their own Alice. Kim Min Ji sees her that way.
In addition to illustrations for "Alice in Wonderland", Kim Min Ji also has watercolors for another, no less famous book - "The Little Prince" by Exupery. All this can be seen on the personal site of the Korean artist.
