Video: Famous men who vied for the attention of one lady

In many literary works and films, the plot is based on a situation where two men enter into open rivalry, trying to win the attention of one woman. Bright and extraordinary women become the object of sighs of no less bright men. Previously, rivals resolved disputes with the help of duels, today they have been replaced by completely different ways of fighting. How did the fight of famous men for one lady of the heart end?
Andrey Bely and Alexander Blok
They were born with a difference of one month, both found their poetic vocation, were able to make friends and loved one woman. The object of their passion was Lyubov Dmitrievna Mendeleeva. At that time, she was already married to Alexander Blok, but their family life was so strange that one should not be surprised at Lyubov Dmitrievna's throws.
Alexander Alexandrovich immediately limited their relationship to platonic feelings, completely rejecting the possibility of carnal love. Andrei Bely, having met a friend's lawful wife, inflamed an incredible passion for her. He confessed his love to her, and at first Lyubov Dmitrievna reacted to his feelings with understanding. However, Blok himself was also aware of Andrei Bely's feelings for his wife.
And the woman either gave hope to the lover, then rejected him, tormenting both herself and the young man. In the end, Lyubov Mendeleev finally rejected Andrei Bely. The same in despair tried to challenge Blok to a duel, but he only said that Boris (Bely's real name is Boris Bugaev) should simply rest.
Then, with Bely, Lyubov Mendeleeva also did not know the joys of carnal love, but later, easily starting short sensual romances, she always strived for the one who rejected her earthly love.
Maximilian Voloshin and Nikolay Gumilyov
The first to fall in love with the charming poet Liza Dmitrieva was Nikolai Gumilyov, who met the girl back in Paris. In 1909, two years after they met, they met again, now in St. Petersburg. Elizaveta Ivanovna encouraged the poet's courtship, but she invariably refused to marriage proposals, being the bride of another person.
Fatal for Gumilyov was their joint trip to Koktebel to Maximilian Voloshin. Lisa suddenly fell in love with him. The affair did not end with a resort romance, Voloshin and Dmitrieva continued their relationship in St. Petersburg. Gumilev still hoped to return his beloved, but was again refused. After Voloshin even challenged Gumilyov to a duel, believing false rumors about the poet's unworthy behavior towards the lady of the heart. However, this duel became a laughing stock for the entire secular society. Voloshin lost his galosh in the snow, and Gumilyov got stuck on the road in his car. The seconds of the duelists did not allow them to shoot themselves to death, and the duel ended as vaguely as it began.
And Elizaveta Ivanovna even gave preference to the land reclamator Vsevolod Vasiliev, having married him in 1911.
Leonid Filatov and Nikolay Burlyaev
Leonid Filatov fell in love with Natalya Varley, barely seeing her in the role of Nina in "Prisoner of the Caucasus". He did not even notice how good the film itself was, so much he was captivated by the actress who played the main character. When he got the chance to meet Natalia personally, she was already in love with Nikolai Burlyaev.
Filatov still hoped to win the beauty's heart. He wrote poetry for her, asked a friend to sing Varley's song on his own behalf. For a while, it seemed to Leonid Filatov: the actress was already ready to become his lover, but she still preferred Burlyaev.
Leonid Filatov was again hopeful when he found out about the divorce of his beloved girl. But she married a second time and again not for him, but for Vladimir Tikhonov.
Valery Zolotukhin and Leonid Filatov
As if in revenge for the failed love with Natalya Varley, fate again put Leonid Filatov in a situation where he had to seek the love of an unfree woman. Nina Shatskaya was married to Valery Zolotukhin when she met Filatov.
Their secret romance lasted more than one year and in the end, Nina realized that she really loved Leonid. She left her husband, who, however, at that time also already loved another woman. Nina Shatskaya became for Leonid Filatov not only a faithful wife, but a real guardian angel.
Alexander Abdulov and Sergey Soloviev
The director Soloviev, having met the model and producer Irina Dmitrakova, began to invite her to the film festival in Khanty-Mansiysk, which he held together with Alexander Abdulov. Solovyov clearly sympathized with the spectacular girl and had almost achieved reciprocity when Abdulov unexpectedly appeared. In front of his astonished friend, the actor literally charmed Irina.
For many years, Irina Dmitrakova became his faithful friend. He even invited her to marry, but the charming and loving actor did not fit into the image of an ideal husband she had invented. But they always remained close people, sincerely worrying about each other.
Vyacheslav Shalevich and Vladimir Basov
Valentina Titova, a studio student at the BDT, had a very serious affair with actor Vyacheslav Shalevich. But, having arrived at Mosfilm for auditions, the actress met Vladimir Basov. The actress did not even think about any relationship with the latter. However, Basov had his own opinion on this matter. After the first acquaintance with Valentina, he gave his word that he would marry her.
And he literally began a siege on all fronts. He could rush to Leningrad and wait patiently in the car at the BDT until she was free. If she had only 15 minutes of free time, he drove the girl to dinner and exactly 15 minutes later she was again at the theater. When Vladimir Basov proposed to her, she, flattered, nevertheless refused him, saying that she loved Shalevich.
Vyacheslav Shalevich, having learned about the marriage proposal, immediately said that he could also marry Valentina. However, having managed to get to know her beloved already well enough, she understood: this was just an impulse. And she gave preference to Vladimir Basov. However, making a decision, she did not yet know that Basov was also in no hurry to go to the registry office. She received a marriage registration certificate when their son Alexander was already born.
True love is not always mutual. Sometimes it, like a serious illness, tortures and eats a person from the inside. It is all the more sad to see a similar picture among famous personalities. They have earned the recognition of millions, have become truly successful and popular. However, personal happiness remained beyond understanding for them. Sometimes such feelings ended in suicide or insane asylum.
