Nikolai Burov, who is the director of St. Isaac's Cathedral, said that rumors that, at the behest of the St. Petersburg authorities, all exhibits will be removed before Easter, are in reality false. The director of the museum made such a message on March 14.

According to him, the museum staff was simply given a task to understand in what time frame, if necessary, all the exhibits could go through the inventory procedure, and were taken out of St. Isaac's Cathedral. It is precisely such works that are now being carried out in the museum. A written order has not been received from the city government, but it is mandatory to determine the time frame.

Museum Director Nikolai Burov said that March 2019 is the best time for inventory and removal of all items. Transportation of all museum exhibits can be carried out on a shorter timeframe, but it is not worth counting on such a procedure to be carried out in one month, and after all, that much remains until Easter, which is celebrated this year on April 16.

Boris Vishnevsky, who is a member of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, during his interview with the National News Service, said that no one is going to take out exhibits from St. Isaac's Cathedral before Easter. The information presented in the media turned out to be false.

Today, the Museum of St. Isaac's Cathedral has about 26 thousand museum exhibits. Mansur Dominov, who holds the position of the chief curator of this museum, said that with all the desire, without violating the current legislation, it is not possible to take out such a number of museum exhibits in a short time. He also said that in St. Petersburg there are no suitable premises that could be used to store museum and fund exhibits.

On the morning of March 14, news appeared in the media that all exhibits would be removed from St. Isaac's Cathedral before Easter by order of the St. Petersburg authorities. The press service of Georgy Poltavchenko, the city's governor, declined to comment on such rumors.
