The Days of Russian Cinema are being held in Israel. For the opening of this event, a picture was chosen with the title "The History of One Purpose", on the creation of which Avdotya Smirnova worked. This is a tragic story about the events in which Leo Tolstoy happened to take part.

During the press conference, Polina Zueva, producer of Kinotavr and organizer of the Days of Russian Cinema, took the floor. During her speech, she said that the whole team is happy to be back in the Gesher theater, to see Israeli spectators, responsive and grateful.

From the Israeli side, Lena Kreindlina is the project manager for the Days of Russian Cinema. She recalled that the "Gesher" theater has been working with the "Kinotavr" community for seven years. Each time, Moscow partners bring new Russian cinema to Israel.

The event is short and takes only three days. Despite its short-term nature, it is filled with events. These days in Tel Aviv, the show of the newest films created in the Russian Federation is taking place. Some of these films have previously visited various shows and even received prestigious awards, high marks.

The program of the Days of Russian Cinema is quite extensive and is designed for different viewers. For the mass audience, the so-called spectator cinema is of particular interest. During the event, there will also be screenings of auteur films. This time in this category will be shown a picture with the title "Heart of the World", which in the current 2018 was able to pick up the main prize at the "Kinotavr" film festival. The presentation of different directions of cinematography in one event helps to acquaint the foreign viewer with modern trends in Russian cinema and to find and attract a maximum of viewers with different preferences to it.

Natalia Meshchaninova, who worked on the film "Heart of the World", came to Israel for the first time. She noted that it is very important for her to find out how the local audience will perceive her work. During the Days of Russian Cinema, not only film screenings are held, there is still time for communication with the audience, which allows the director to find out how his next creation was received, how the audience could understand the director's idea. The event is scheduled to close on November 4th.
