Rospatent approved the application and agreed to register the image of Nikita Besogon as a trademark of Besogon LLC, owned by the famous director Nikita Sergeevich Mikhalkov. This became known from the message of the correspondent, who was reporting from the hall of the Court for Intellectual Property Rights.

The chairman of Rospatent said at the hearing that “it is possible to register the contested trademark in the name of the applicant”. The judge, in turn, satisfied Mikhalkov's requirements, ordered the registration of the image of Nikita Besagon as a trademark, and in addition, the department must pay 3000 rubles, which Mikhalkov's company spent on filing a claim.

The representative of Rospatent stated that after studying the case file, it was established that this decision would not conflict with public interests. Separately, it was noted that the opinion of scientists, including theological educational institutions, was also taken into account.

Thus, the company's trademark will be the image of a fairy-tale character and a person, as well as a tree branch placed in a double frame. The outer border of the frame is a rectangle and the inner border is an arch.

Mikhalkov explained his interest by the fact that this image is used in his author's program “Besogon. TV ", which has been broadcast on" Russia 24 "since 2014. The director emphasized that since the beginning of the 18th century, there is no mention of Besogon in Christian literature. He was venerated only by the Old Believers, and the ROC never canonized him.

Nikita Besogon is considered one of the first Christians who were tortured and died for Christ in Constantinople. He was venerated by the Russian church until 1666, when the church split. And today archaeologists find ancient plastic artifacts with images of Besogon. You can recognize him by a stick or shackles, clamped in his hand, with which he beats the demon.

It is known that Mikhalkov's company plans to use the brand for such groups of services and goods as media, advertising, cinematographic equipment, photography, education, upbringing and telecommunications.
