Designer and art director Yoni Alter (Yoni alter) lives and works in London, but his imagination allows him to travel around the world. Within a cycle of posters "Forms of cities" (Shapes of Cities) Alter tries to capture the very essence of the world's largest centers with several expressive outlines and the right color scheme.
Alter has lived in London since 2006; there he completed his art education, which he had begun in Jerusalem. Currently, the designer's portfolio already includes cooperation with major brands, and his design agency is rapidly gaining momentum. According to Alter himself, he is inspired by "pop culture, nature, London, architecture and everything else." It should be noted that this series of prints contributed a lot to Alter's success: now you can already buy T-shirts with "City Forms" prints or iPhone apps based on the same idea on the Internet.
In total per cycle Shapes of Cities at the moment there are fourteen cities. The architectural objects, which in each case represent each city, are not only carefully selected and painted in contrasting colors, but are also compared to each other in size. Along the right edge of each poster is a scale that can be used to calculate the height of the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building or any other world famous "skyscraper".
Comparing the largest centers of modern civilization with each other is a habit for designers: one can recall, for example, Vahram Muratyan's project "Paris vs New York" … Yoni Alter is also not the first print creator to draw inspiration from architecture (here it is worth mentioning at least Alejandre Arrechea). Altera singles out from his colleagues, first of all, a commendable desire to "embrace the immense": one or two cities are not enough for him, the designer is interested in everything at once.

The most colorful cities in the world: from Chukotka to Bolivia
There are many vibrant cities on Earth, but some of them are especially fabulous. These are cities with colorful houses. Such cities are scattered across the continents, they are found both in the north and in the south. Moreover, as practice shows, the "colorfulness" of a city does not at all depend on the standard of living of its inhabitants - colorful cities are found in rich countries and in poor ones. By the way, among the brightest settlements
