Contemporary ballet has long gone beyond the scope of academic art. Photographers make bold experiments, filming dancers backstage, at home, or even on the street. In today's review, we will focus on an incredibly emotional project, the pictures for which were taken in Cuba. Local dancers have tremendous energy, so the photos turned out to be full of passion and fire!
The author of the photo project is Omar Robles, he has 135 thousand subscribers on the popular Instagram network. One glance at his work is enough to understand what attracts the audience. Omar believes that Cuban dancers are some of the best in the world. "Movement and rhythm run in their Afro-Caribbean blood, and the Russian dance school provided the necessary knowledge" - this, in the author's opinion, is the secret of the success of Cuban dancers.
For many years Omar Robles dreamed of visiting this wayward and freedom-loving country. He managed to make his dream come true thanks to a grant from the Bessie Foundation. Describing his impressions, he says the following: “Cubans are in a state of constant struggle. Their dancers are a great example of how the best qualities and skills can be transferred through generations. The ballet school in Cuba is alive, it has absorbed the experience of the world's best dancers. These people have tremendous stamina, it is in their blood, and it helps them achieve their goals!"
