For the past ten years, Avatar, directed by world-renowned director James Cameron, has been the top grossing film worldwide. And now the leader of this rating was shifted to the second line, and instead of it the first position was taken by the film "Avengers: Endgame" from the Marvel film studio. The margin in the box office was small, and yet it led to a change in the rankings.

Last weekend, the Comic-Con festival took place. Already on it, Kevin Feige, who is the head of the Marvel studio, talked about the victory of the last "Avengers", although at this time there was no official information yet. According to one of the foreign sites that regularly collects information on the size of the box office for all films, "Avengers: Endgame" was able to collect at the box office the amount of 2.79 billion US dollars. The gap from the movie "Avatar" is quite insignificant, because its fees amount to 2. 7897 billion dollars.

Alan Horn, who is chief creative officer and also co-chairman of Walt Disney Studios, said that the strong box office figures for these two films show that cinema has the ability to connect and inspire people. During his speech, he drew attention to the fact that viewers are waiting for the continuation of stories in two universes: Pandora and Marvel.

Director James Cameron decided to congratulate his competitors for coming out on top with a picture in which Iron Man is depicted surrounded by glowing seeds from a sacred tree. Also in this picture there is an inscription in the fictional language Navi.

In one of the British companies, they said that the great success and such an impressive box office, these two films managed to achieve largely due to the re-release. So Marvel decided to rerun the latest Avengers at the end of June. The re-screening added a previously deleted Hulk scene, a traditional post-credits snippet, and a tribute to Stan Lee, who dreamed up many of the Marvel comic characters.

James Cameron's film returned to the big screen a year after its official release. It is worth noting that the director will still have a chance to overtake the final of "The Avengers", because starting from the end of 2021, and every two years, four more films are planned to be released, which will be the continuation of "Avatar".
