Ira Toneva grew up in Krasnoznamensk in a military family, and although she studied at a music school and danced as a child, she did not dream of becoming an artist then. After school, she entered the Moscow University of Design and Technology and mastered the specialty of a chemical-technologist in leather and fur. After that, Toneva worked for 3 years at a tannery in Kuntsevo, and of all the future "manufacturers" she was the only real "factory girl".

Working in a factory, and later as a chemical technologist in a cosmetics company, Toneva did not quit her music lessons - she studied vocals with a teacher, sang in a military band, and in 2002 decided to come to the casting of the TV project "Star Factory" and became one of the brightest participants in this show. The audience remembered her then for the fact that she won the confrontation with Vitas and sang in a duet with Pasha Artemyev from the group "Roots" the song "You understand", which became a hit.

In the final of the project, the "Factory" group took second place and after the end of the show, contrary to the predictions of skeptics, it did not break up after a few months, but released hit after hit: "About Love", "The Sea Calls", "Factory Girls", "Rybka", "I will kiss you", etc. Subsequently, the composition of the group changed several times, but Irina Toneva is still a member of it.

Irina Toneva is known not only as a singer. She graduated from the Herman Sidakov School of Acting and starred in the film "Snow Angel" and in the TV series "Hello, I'm your dad!" and Women on the Edge. In 2016, in parallel with her participation in the group, she took up solo work and created her own project "Toneva". Today she plans to have a solo concert and release an album.
