This is how it all began

On October 18, 1969, their first date took place. The artist came to the meeting in all its splendor: a dark cloak, a snow-white shirt with a frill and a cap. They went for a walk to the very house in which they would soon live together. Between tours, rehearsals and Gennady's concerts, they made time for meetings.

This period was overshadowed only by the negative attitude of the mother to the choice of her daughter. She did not like the profession of the future son-in-law at all, she tried to reason with Zlata, to open her eyes to the futility of such a party. But the girl was adamant. Mom had to come to terms, and then make sure that Zlata was not mistaken in her choice.

On December 25, 1970, the wedding of Gennady Khazanov and Zlata Elbaum took place. In fact, they have long wanted to sign, but there was no time in the tight schedule of the young groom's tour.

The groom arrived at his own wedding in a concert costume, and the bride bought for herself a modest dress that did not at all look like a wedding one. They were terribly chilled while catching a taxi, almost late for the beginning of the ceremony. No one would have paid attention to this couple, but Leonid Utesov himself was a witness from the groom's side, his arrival at the registry office could not go unnoticed. The newlyweds celebrated the event in a restaurant, in the circle of close friends and colleagues.

Family life

The first years of married life, they were constantly together. When Gennady went on tour, Zlata certainly accompanied him. Colleagues treated the couple of young spouses with great warmth, they always tried to provide them with a cozy corner for spending the night.

Zlata turned out to be an amazing hostess. She learned a lot from her mother, who believed that there should always be soup in the house. It has become a cult dish in the comedian's family as well. At any time, the beloved husband was waiting for soup, lovingly prepared by the young wife. It was a symbol of warmth and home comfort. And on tour, Zlata diligently created a homely atmosphere for her husband. They were tired of long journeys, they missed their lovely family nest, but at the same time they were very happy.

In 1974, Gennady and Zlata had a daughter, Alice, who became their only child, their pride and happiness. She will fulfill her father's old dream, graduate from a choreographic school and become a ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater. He himself was once not accepted into this very school, having decided that he was too weak to perform the necessary supports.

Guardian angel

Khazanov's popularity grew, and the attention of the press became more and more persistent. However, journalists did not have a chance to find any details of the famous comedian's personal life. He valued the reputation of his family very much and did everything for the lack of informational reasons for discussion in the press.

In his opinion, one should not consider family members as service personnel, be able to put oneself in the shoes of other people and feel their pain, their emotions and experiences. This is what will allow you to maintain peace, understanding and harmony in family relationships.

The actor and his wife try to spend as much time as possible together whenever possible. They visit theaters, concerts, exhibitions. But at the same time, they categorically do not like secular parties.

Now they have one more great joy in life: two granddaughters - Mina and Eva, whom Gennady and Zlata love dearly, actively help their daughter in their upbringing. In a family, spouses are attentive to each other's desires. Zlata Iosifovna loves Tel Aviv very much, they have Israeli citizenship and a house in her beloved city. And Gennady Viktorovich prefers Jurmala, so they have a large apartment there, where he is comfortable to rest and work.
