An unusual sculpture can be seen in Montmartre in Paris: a bronze man walking through a wall. The strange monument perpetuates the memory of two people at once: the writer Marcel Aimé, who in 1943 wrote the story "The Man Walking Through the Wall", and his friend, the famous actor Jean Marais, who is the author of the sculpture. Few of the fans of "Fantomas" and "Count of Monte Cristo" know that after 50 years, the popular actor returned to his old hobby - painting, and a little later he took up sculpture, and so successfully that, according to Pablo Picasso,.

A famous actor in his declining years talked about his hobbies like this: “I started drawing at 10, made a collection of clothes at 50, took up ceramics at 60, and sculpture at 73”. To be honest, because of the first painting classes, young Jeannot almost got into the police. The little monster with the face of an angel stole everything that was bad, constantly deceived everyone around him and composed fables about his family.

Much later, having already settled down, the young man learned that his adolescent rebellion may have had very deep reasons: from the age of four, the boy lived in Paris without a father, and his mother periodically "left" somewhere on business, leaving him with his aunt. In fact, the mother of the future star was a kleptomaniac and was often in prison. Little Jean wrote letters to her, but only his aunt always wrote the address on the envelope, thus keeping unpleasant family secrets from the boy.

At the age of ten, Jeannot really became interested in drawing, as he managed to steal a set of paints and brushes somewhere. For some time he passionately painted on whatever he had to. Then the colors ran out, but the hobby remained. The famous actor was able to surrender to him with pleasure and fully only at the end of his life, at the end of his stellar career, but it was art that was his first serious occupation. At the age of 15, the young man completely abandoned school and went to work. First I got a job at a factory, but then I managed to find an easier job - in a photo studio.

The owner of the salon taught the talented young man the basics of painting, and at the same time made a lot of his photographs to advertise the institution, because the young assistant had really outstanding external data. The young man was also aware of his advantages and did not get lost - he sent cards to all film studios in France. True, he very quickly found out that a handsome manly face is not the main thing in the acting profession, in addition, talent is required. The actor's path to the blue screens and the hearts of the audience was very long, and for the time of painting he had to forget. On the set, an amazing variety of talents of the young actor was manifested: he himself performed all the stunts, and, in addition, he was known as a skillful decorator.

After 50 years, the famous actor decided that he had enough to fight with swords, jump from bridges and save beauties from burning castles. According to Jean Marais, by this time a good half of the female population of the Earth was drying up, however, it should be noted, it was absolutely hopeless, since the poet and director Jean Cocteau was his life partner. The famous French actor had a very long life, therefore, having completed his stellar career, he was happy to do what attracted him from early childhood.

Jean Marais always spoke of his artistic hobbies somewhat condescendingly:
