The name of this actress does not mean anything to most viewers. Ekaterina Sambueva played only one role in the movie, and although she was secondary, she was probably remembered by many. This is the mysterious savage Annuir from the legendary film "Sannikov Land". Neither before nor after that she appeared on the screens, but at the same time left a noticeable mark in art …
Ekaterina Sambueva was born in 1949 in Ulan-Ude. Since childhood, her main hobby was dancing, and after school she graduated from the Buryat Choreographic School. The promising promising dancer was sent to Leningrad, where from 1967 she studied in the improvement class of the Leningrad Choreographic School. Under the guidance of the best teachers there, the girl was able to reveal her potential. In the same year, Ekaterina Sambueva became a soloist of the Buryat Opera and Ballet Theater.
In 1972, Ekaterina Sambueva played her only role, which brought her all-Union popularity, - the natives of Annuir. The audience did not suspect that this image was created by one of the leading dancers of the Soviet ballet. As well as the fact that this film was originally predicted to fail. Filming from the very beginning took place in a very tense atmosphere, conflicts often occurred on the set, and it was not possible to decide on the final cast of actors until the very last moment.
Initially, it was assumed that the main roles in this film would be played by other actors: Armen Dzhigarkhanyan was offered to play the leader of the expedition Ilyin, Evgeny Leonov - the servant of Ignatius, Igor Ledogorov - the convict Gubin, and Vladimir Vysotsky - the adventurer Krestovsky. However, almost all of these actors were engaged in other projects and did not even come to audition. Only Vysotsky caught fire with this idea, who specially for "Sannikov Land" recorded 3 songs: "White Silence", "Choosy Horses" and "Ballad of the Abandoned Ship". But before filming began, the management of "Mosfilm" removed from the role of Vysotsky without explaining the reasons. As a result, Oleg Dal played Krestovsky, and Yuri Nazarov, Georgy Vitsin and Vladislav Dvorzhetsky became his partners on the set.
At the same time, the atmosphere on the set did not improve, and the conflicts continued. Despite all the difficulties, the actors coped with their task brilliantly. At the box office "Sannikov Land" was very popular - the film was watched by 41 million viewers. The project, doomed to failure, unexpectedly, even for its creators, became one of the recognized masterpieces of Soviet cinema. And the merit in this was not only among the performers of the main roles, but also among the actors who played episodic roles. The image of the native Annuir, created by Ekaterina Sambueva, turned out to be very vivid and memorable.
The "camp of the Onkelons" was erected 100 km from Nalchik, on the Bylymsky pass. Nobody knew what an exotic nation that left the mainland 400 years ago should look like. Costume designer Alina Budnikova told: "". Dancers from ballet companies from Kazakhstan to Buryatia were invited to play the roles of exotic onkelons.
Despite the successful film debut, Sambueva did not want to continue her acting career - she considered ballet her true vocation all her life. Ekaterina admitted that shooting in Sannikov Land was an exciting and valuable experience for her, but at the same time she did not perceive it as a professional activity. She was invited to the capital's theaters, but Catherine decided to return to her homeland and perform on the stage of the theater in the capital of Buryatia. At the same time, she continued to be considered one of the brightest artists of the Soviet ballet.
Enthusiastic critics called Sambueva "the little Buryat Terpsichora." Connoisseurs of ballet from all over the USSR came especially to her performances. Ballet experts wrote about her: "".
Her talent has received recognition not only at home, but also abroad. Towards the end of her artistic career, Yekaterina Sambueva completed an internship at the Mariinsky Theater and toured several times around the world. She was applauded in theaters in Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Portugal, USA, Vietnam, China, Mongolia, Japan and other countries.
Having completed her career as a dancer, Ekaterina Sambueva graduated from the correspondence department of GITIS and took up teaching. In 1994-1997 she was the artistic director of the Buryat State Choreographic School, in 1998-1999. stood at the origins of the creation of the Elista ballet theater in Kalmykia. Since 1999, Ekaterina Sambueva has been the artistic director and teacher-coach of the ballet troupe of the Buryat State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. Since 2013 - Chief Choreographer of the State Opera and Ballet Theater of the Komi Republic. Under her leadership, the Buryat ballet reached the world level.
Her artistic career ended just at the time of the collapse of the USSR and the crisis in Russian art. Many of Sambueva's colleagues, in order to stay “afloat”, were forced to participate in such projects, the aesthetic level of which could not be spoken about. Therefore, Ekaterina Sambueva did not regret that she had to leave the stage. This allowed her to maintain her good name and remain a moral guide for aspiring artists. She said: "".
Today, Ekaterina Sambueva, who recently celebrated her 70th anniversary, remains one of the largest cultural figures in Buryatia. She still lives in her native Ulan-Ude, participates in cultural events in the capital and leads an active social life.
Today this film is considered a cult, and in the 1970s. serious passions flared up around him: Why "Sannikov Land" is called one of the most scandalous films in the history of Soviet cinema.
