Bending over a copy of the newspaper, blade in hand, Kim Rugg turns the first page into a pile of paper by neatly cutting out each letter. Then the author reconstructs the newspaper page, but in the way she wants: arranging all the letters of the original text in alphabetical order.

Collages, which are the result of painstaking work of Kim Rugg, are no longer text and do not contain any information. Now the author suggests the viewer not to read the newspaper, pondering the meaning, but to look at it and evaluate the graphic design: the font used, the spacing between the columns, the size of the headings, and so on. By the way, Kim Rugg works not only with texts: the published drawings and photographs, over which our heroine conjured, also become collages, only consisting not of letters, but of pixels.

"Los Angeles Times", "Financial Times", "Daily Mail", "The Guardian" … The patience of the author, through whose hands dozens of printed editions, can only be envied. However, newspapers are not the only material that Kim Rugg likes to work with. Her favorites also include brands and cereal boxes, which she, according to tradition, first chops into small pieces and then restores them in a new way.
