Video: Amazing collages from newspapers and magazines by Joe Webb

British artist Joe Webb is doing bullshit, as some grumblers might decide. But this nonsense is so original, fascinating and interesting that the results can be considered, if not masterpieces of contemporary art, then interesting, and sometimes witty or even philosophical pictures. It doesn't matter that Joe Webb rarely picks up paints and a brush. His mixed media collages are not inferior to modern painting and graphics in terms of the implementation of the idea.
Collage, or simply applique, is the simplest kind of art that kids are taught to do in kindergarten, they continue to develop this talent at school in fine art lessons … Well, adults on their own, consciously choose this way of self-expression if they feel they have what to say, and they know how to show it to the public. Joe Webb is just such a laconic author whose collages make people smile and sometimes genuinely laugh.
In the artist's portfolio, we will find collages of a wide variety of moods, from romantic to politically sharp, from humorous to philosophical, from absurd to surreal. Simple fun with pictures cut from magazines, newspapers, catalogs and booklets, this British author has significantly ennobled, embellished, filled with meaning - and now Joe Webb's collages are participating in exhibitions, shown in modern art galleries, and are listed in private collections of connoisseurs of non-standard creativity.
