They live in their own worlds, lost in time and space. They fly with birds, know how to heal, embody the tenderness of water lilies, and if necessary, they can sting like a scorpion. They know all the secrets of the world, but they are in no hurry to reveal them. They are the keepers of the universe, created Melissa Forman.
In each of the sixteen paintings included in the series "The Keepers of Creation", the artist depicts a woman who possesses certain abilities and knows one or another secret. Which one - reveals the details of the picture and its name, by the way, is very poetic. Here are just a few examples: "The one who flies with the scarlet ibises", "The one who sows the seeds of life", "The one who has the sting of a scorpion."
“Each painting in this series represents a different aspect of the natural world and the importance of respecting and protecting it. In the world of the Protectors, nothing is taken for granted, and as a result, goddesses, wildlife and the natural world develop a truly symbiotic relationship,”says Melissa Foreman.
The prototypes of the heroines of Melissa Foreman were the relatives and friends of the artist, but in the paintings they do not look like themselves. It would be more correct to say that each work of Foreman is an image of emotions and a state of mind, and not a specific person.
Melissa Foreman lives and works in Cleveland, Ohio. She began to paint at the age of fourteen, and by now her works are in galleries and collections around the world, including the USA, Germany, Great Britain. More works by the artist can be found on her official website.

The work of Andrei Zakharov, one of the most recognizable and popular artists in Russia, belongs to the outstanding achievements of modern Russian impressionist landscape painting. "Vacuum" - depressive paintings by Melissa Cook
There is a lot of depression and melancholy, and I would like to see some glimmers of optimism in works of art and believe that everything is not as bad as it seems. But something the authors refuse to please us lately: in the company of the already known to us sad sculptures by Derek Weisberg, no less depressing paintings by Melissa Cooke were added
Guardians of Russian museums through the eyes of Andy Friberg
Each of us, being in domestic museums, necessarily noticed women sitting in galleries and watching visitors. Photographer Andy Freeberg seems to be interested in these museum workers almost more than the works of art themselves. After all, it was the women-caretakers who became the main heroines of his photo series "Guardians"
