Pillars of light, it turns out, there are not only during the ascension of the saints to heaven. When it's very, very cold outside, thin graceful columns sometimes rise above the ground - one of the amazing atmospheric phenomena that inspires thousands of photographers to uncover their lenses. Meet the result of co-creation of atmosphere, light, man and camera
From a physical point of view, these pillars - result refraction of light in the finest icy dust that swirls in the air in frosty weather. At the same time, even completely dim lighting - from the moon, or from a garden lantern - can light up amazing illumination. Moreover, each time the pillars look different: they look like the columns of some heavenly temple, then like disco lights, then like light streams of rain from the light.
These photographs, which show the pillars of light, are the artistic catch of landscape photographers Jason Ahrns, Mila Zinkova, Tristan Greszko and others.
