The world's oldest blogger grandmother, Dagny Karlsson from Sweden, celebrated her 109th birthday. As a real Internet star, she was quick to share her birthday story with subscribers. At 109, Dagny is very active, her posts are filled with humor, and she hopes to become an example for other retirees.
Last year, Dagny celebrated her birthday outdoors. This year the weather is worse, so relatives and several close friends gathered with the birthday girl in the apartment. Due to the situation with the coronavirus and in order to avoid crowding, the blogger grandmother was unable to receive many guests. Due to the same coronavirus, media representatives were also not allowed into the apartment. By the way, Dagny herself this year announced on her blog that she was vaccinated and encourages others to do the same. In her words, she tolerated the vaccination well: only for a while she felt a burning sensation at the injection site, but then it passed.
“Yesterday I didn’t publish the birthday celebration report because I was not at home until the middle of the night, and then it was too late to write,” Dani explained. “I received a letter from the Queen - her secretary gave me the message. Ritt-Inger's niece and her husband Herman also came, as well as the Lixon family from the suburbs. A lot of people greeted me and congratulated me.
A couple of days before her birthday, Dagny was in apathy and wrote in her blog: “I don’t know why I’m lying on the bed, because I am not sick. I also don't know if I can be seen as a role model by other elderly people, but if I become one, I will be happy. I don't have to worry about my birthday because the family takes care of it. There will be no pictures, because the computer does not want to publish anything. I don't understand anything."
Meanwhile, the birthday was a success, and the 109-year-old blogger was just happy. The birthday girl was literally bombarded with flowers and gifts, some of which she especially liked - for example, mazarins (Norwegian tea cakes) with her portrait, thanks to which Dagny, as she confessed, will remember this joyful day for a long time.
The long-liver has received many beautiful greeting cards from all over the world. “I have to keep them. I will watch them later - when I feel lonely,”Dagny explained to the subscribers.
Summing up the birthday, the blogger summed up: today she rested and calmed down. She also thanked everyone who congratulated her on Facebook, because she is also registered there.
“I will continue to write and be active as long as I can,” wrote Dagny.
By the way, on this birthday, the blogger grandmother took pictures so much that the memory of her gadget ran out and she could no longer take pictures. It's good at least that I managed to take a selfie with the cake!
Elena, a friend and spokesman for Dagny, said that next year the blogger plans to throw a grand party - if, of course, everything goes well.
Dagny Karlsson was born in 1912 in Kristianstad. She worked in a factory, helped her mother raise her younger brothers and sisters. She was married twice and gave birth to children. She decided to master the computer at the age of 99 and a year later she began to maintain her own blog on the Swedish site, registering under the nickname Boyan.
Dagny's posts are about everything: about flowers, about her trips to interesting places and just about the news from her life. And they also have reflections. For example, Dagny admits that she never tried to be "correct" and did not torment herself with diets, sometimes preferring to eat a cake or a slice of cake. “Being perfect is boring,” she says, and also reveals and other secrets of the blogger's popularity.
