When the workers of the car wash found a large fighting dog wandering around without an owner next to their work, they decided to catch it. The dog turned out to be incredibly kind and affectionate - it looked people in the eyes, obediently waited tied to the fence and good-naturedly greeted all clients with a wagging tail. The dog was named Candy.
Car wash workers doted on Sweets. They were afraid that the dog might get hit by a car - a very noisy road was just passing by, so they decided to keep the animal with them. Each of the workers took turns walking the dog on a leash, and the dog obviously enjoyed the attention. And when one of the clients asked about Sweetie, she was told how it is - that the dog itself nailed to them to work and now she lives here at the car wash. So Sweetie ended up with Katie, who could not walk by and leave such a smiling dog to live at the car wash.
The first thing Katie did was take Candy to the vet. There she found out that Sweetie is completely healthy, she is 8 months old and does not have a chip that could be used to find her previous owners. Then she drove around the whole district, looking for any announcements about the missing dog. Katie has also posted advertisements on local shelter websites. But no one responded to help Yummy, her previous owners did not call.
“By the end of the fifth day, I had already fallen so deeply in love with her that, to be honest, I was only glad that no one called and that no one wanted to take her away from me,” Katie later admitted.
Now two and a half years have passed since then, Sweetie has grown into a strong adult dog, full of good nature and unconditional love for its owner Katie. Katie herself had another dog at home - Isaac, so Sweetie spent all these two and a half years in friendship, love and never suffered from loneliness. And more recently, Katie moved to her mother - she was 90 years old and it became difficult for her to move, so she needed her daughter's help.
“Mom has three dogs, I have two, we have someone getting underfoot all the time,” says Katie. - "But only Sweetie walks with mom and takes care of her." Indeed, after the move, it suddenly turned out that the fighting pitbull is not only not a dangerous dog, but also the most caring of all. The grandmother moves around the house very slowly, using a walker, periodically stopping to catch her breath and rest. And then Sweetie appears, lies at the feet of the grandmother, as if becoming a soft pillow in case she falls.
“Frankly, we didn't understand at first whether Sweetie wanted Mom to go back or if she was there in case Mom fell,” says Katie. However, it soon became clear that the dog was protecting the grandmother from falling. Every time, day or night, when the grandmother goes somewhere around the house, Sweetie patiently walks beside, and as soon as the grandmother stops, the dog lies at her feet.
It's amazing how someone could leave such a loving and caring dog or not try to find it. The candy managed to win the heart of absolutely every person with whom she happened to meet on her way, and it's great that in the end she found a home with people who can also repay her with love for love.
