A talented artist from Belarus is attracted by images of ecstatic women. While other artists try to draw a parallel in their works between femininity and nature itself, the ladies in Lilia's paintings, on the contrary, have nothing to do with unconditional love for Mother Earth. Rather, they look like forest nymphs who create around themselves a surprisingly light and playful atmosphere, full of harmony and childish mischief.
Lilia Mazurkevich was born in Belarus. 1984 to 1987 studied at the Kiev College of Culture and Arts, and then decided to continue her studies at one of the art schools in England. The decision to leave her home influenced her further career. At the moment, her private collections of works are presented in galleries in the UK, Italy, Switzerland, America and Austria.
“In my works, I try to portray various character traits and appearance of a person that amaze me. Especially, I like to observe how people behave in different conditions and situations.
