A sweet dream in an expensive coffin, a languid evening with its own reflection, a Christmas gift in the form of two boxes, in which spare parts from living dolls, beauty injections, more like a dubious choice on the part of the fair sex, an androgynous creature in striped golfs, gloves with boots made of human skin and a boy who has grown fat to an incredible size with a bitten chocolate chip - the lesser of all evils that a curious viewer encounters who stumbled upon a frighteningly intriguing creativity (Hugh Kretschmer), who specializes in extraordinary advertising and fashion photography.
- says Hugh.
The caustic, pretentious, and in some places even disgusting work of Hugh, at the same time attracts and alarms, forcing you to think about who or what prompted the photographer to create such crazy pictures, in which life seems to be familiar to the eye, but that's just far from ugly and creepy with everyone the ensuing consequences, which are unlikely to ever be washed off. One gets the impression that he is pulling human ignorance to the surface, exposing people to a complete laugh in the eyes of others, who whisper behind their backs, curling their lips in a disgusting grin, considering themselves better than those who in every possible way try to attract filming with ridiculous actions, rash decisions and confusion together taken. But what if not everything is as bad as it seems at first glance? What if his work is a great advertising move, thanks to which you can sell even something that has not given up to anyone for nothing?
You look at all these coffins and people with branches instead of faces, at disassembled bodies in boxes, which can be assembled with just a minimum of effort, at a girl who, in pursuit of beauty, pricks Botox, after looking at herself in the mirror with a thoughtful look, asks the question: "Why and why did she need it?" So it turns out that while some are on diets, weighing the unfortunate carrot on a control scale, others shamelessly gobble up cookies by both cheeks, not thinking about anything, just enjoying life and taste. But that's not all. Pitfalls emerge in the most unexpected places, opening up secret curtains and doors about savings systems of deposits for the viewer, when the money accumulated over the years is taken out without the knowledge of the owners in inconspicuous cars, leaving behind a sign on the door "The room is for rent" …
Eva B, in her, touched upon the most exciting topics of our time: from detox to feminism with refugees, who are talked about on every corner, reminding us all that we owe someone something.
