Jessica Roberts from the American city of Wellington, together with her son, looked at things at a flea market and discovered a cute paperweight in the shape of a heart. “Mom, I want to give it to you,” said the boy. The little thing cost only one dollar, and the woman bought it without hesitation. At that moment she did not even realize that, making this purchase, she and her son were acquiring not a paperweight at all, but an urn in the dust … When Jessica found out, she was amazed. And then there was a desire to understand everything …
For the first five years after buying a paperweight, the woman, without hesitation, used the object for its intended purpose: she pressed home papers with them. By weight, it was heavy, and outwardly very beautiful - in the shape of a heart, but the owner did not pay much attention to it. True, even when buying, she noticed two screwed screws on it, but this did not bother her. Jessica decided that there was a container inside for filling sand, which makes the paperweight heavier. However, in the end, she still had to study the subject in detail.
On that day, Jessica was browsing the Amazon website and suddenly saw a paperweight in the picture, very similar to the one at her house. Opposite it was the price: $ 30. She clicked on the picture and read Urn for Ashes. The description explained that this is a container for storing the cremated remains of a pet or a small part of human ashes.
The woman was very surprised, took her paperweight from the table and began to study it carefully. Finally, she understood what a “door” on a voluminous metal heart is for.
Jessica wrote about this story on her Facebook page. Subscribers reacted vividly to her post and began to give advice. Someone recommended that she urgently throw out the urn, someone - carefully and respectfully bury it in some quiet place or bury it in a pet cemetery. And one friend advised her to decorate the lawn with this urn: they say, it is beautiful, and the place for the deceased is quite suitable. There were also those who recommended Jessica to try to find the owners of the urn.
In a conversation with her acquaintances, Roberts joked gloomily: “Well, what can I do, since I don’t know who the ashes belonged to, I’ll just leave this item with me. Stop using it as a paperweight, put it on the fireplace shelf and keep it as a member of my family. I'll think of a name for him - for example, Aunt Thomas. I don’t know what gender this person was …”.
However, jokes are jokes, and on the night after this eerie discovery, Jessica could not fall asleep - she was all tossing and turning and thinking about what to do now.
The next morning, Jessica unscrewed the trash can. After making sure that there really was ashes inside, she decided by all means to find the one to whom the memorial item could belong.
Jessica asked her subscribers to spread information about the trash can on social networks. She really hoped to find the owners before Christmas. And, incredibly, she succeeded.
The woman recalls that her message caused a huge resonance. Dozens of people were ready to help her. And in the evening she received a call from the local newspaper Chronicle Telegram to inform her that they plan to publish her story in the next issue.
The next morning - immediately after the newspaper was published - a stranger contacted Jessica Roberts and said that his wife had lost this urn many years ago and that part of her father's ashes was kept in the container.
The man explained that many years ago, even before the wedding with him, his wife left a partner who was distinguished by extraordinary cruelty. After parting, out of anger, he did not want to give her her things, including this urn. And the stranger also said that he and his wife had a child, and quite recently she just remembered the loss with bitterness and complained that the remains of her father were not in the family. The wife admitted that she was very worried about the fact that in Heaven her parent, probably, would not find comfort in any way.
“I met this man and gave him the remains of his father-in-law. Taking the urn, he was just happy, explaining that he intends to surprise his wife with this surprise on Christmas morning, - says Jessica. “After what a bad year 2020 was for many on the planet, I feel really happy that I was able to bring someone a little joy in the Christmas season,” explains Jessica.
As you know, at Christmas and not that happens. Well, for those who do not believe that miracles are possible in real life, we recommend that you return to childhood for a while and just dream. For example read 10 books for children and adults, which will help you believe in a fairy tale and give you a New Year's mood.
