Winter on Russian soil is a magical and unusual time of the year. There is summer time on all continents and you will not surprise anyone with it, but real winter with severe frosts and huge snowdrifts is not given to everyone. And who, no matter how artists, are able to express all the charm of this wonderful time on their canvases. Just as the classics of the Russian landscape genre never passed by the splendor of winter beauties, so our contemporaries enthusiastically praise the Russian beauty-winter. A delightful selection of works by the wonderful landscape artist Dmitry Levin - this is a vivid confirmation.
The blinding whiteness of the snow-covered forest, the majestic silence, the fields covered with snow, the villages in winter decoration on the artist's canvases create the illusion of a fairy tale that attracts and delights the viewer.
For where, no matter how in painting, it is possible to convey that which is very difficult to express in words. All the miracles created by Mother Nature fall on the canvases of Dmitry Levin and freeze in time for centuries. In his paintings you can see all the charms of this amazing pore: the snow-white covers of downy snow, which covered the sleeping branches of trees and shrubs, and the mirror-like surface of frozen rivers, and deep snow, on which traces of sled runners and paws of forest dwellers can be seen, and even hear how the frost creaks and the blizzard howls.
The artist's paintings with the image of the winter sun, which makes its way through the thickets of the forest, create a stunning picturesque effect, also look magical and bewitching.
Despite the ease of perception, Dmitry Levin fills his works with both deep meaning and authenticity. The magical power of art is felt in every landscape of the artist.
And apparently this is why, looking through the master's canvases, the lyrical lines of Irina Samarina involuntarily come to mind:
The painting technique of the master is unusual for a winter landscape - he practically does not use pure white color. A bright colorful palette, so uncharacteristic of the monochrome of this time of the year, for Dmitry Levin is his business card, unique style and author's handwriting. Harmony, serenity and peace can be traced in each of his creations. This is what attracts the master to his work of numerous connoisseurs of painting.
