In a small town near Lisbon (Portugal) the third festival of light installations was held Lumina 2014 … The entire town was illuminated by thousands of multi-colored lights, which took the form of various art installations.
Last weekend, the streets of the coastal town of Cascais were flooded with light. The Lumina Light Festival was held there. Artists from 14 countries of the world presented 26 light projects, among which were sculptures, interactive installations, art shows, multimedia projections. Each of these works could be called a work of art.
Residents of the city also took an active part in the preparation of the festival. They presented their composition of luminous flowers.
The artists' works were scattered throughout the city. And so that the audience could easily navigate, the organizers of the festival installed a special "light path" that led to each of the art projects.
Artist Daniel Buren also uses the play of light, color and shadow in his works. He recently introduced a new art project Catch as Catch Can. The master had previously glued the windows of the gallery with colored film, and placed several rectangular mirrors on the floor.
