Holland is famous for its craftsmen who can amaze sophisticated audiences. So one married couple is engaged in the manufacture of carved candles (Candle Carving). When looking at them, it is hard to believe that these are ordinary paraffin candles. Intricate twisted ribbons, carved animals and birds. It is a pity to even light such works of art, you just have to admire them.
Valerie, owner of the company Holland house candles, says that their family business was created back in 1974, when she was 16 years old. Over time, the parents grew older, and Valerie took over the management of the company. Moreover, she not only leads, but also produces wonderful candles herself.
In order to get several multi-colored layers in a candle, it is placed in hot paraffin wax with dyes. After that, the masters get to work. The candle cools down very quickly, therefore, in order to avoid solidification of the material, the cutting process itself takes literally 15 minutes. Valerie captured the amazing process of making a carved candle on camera, and now anyone can try to create their own little masterpiece.
Israeli artist Natalie Burikov also loves carving. She carves outlandish patterns on candles.
