The reason for the closure of this comedy series was that political issues began to be raised in it. The main character Roseanne in the last season actively supports the current American President Donald Trump and on this occasion she constantly has conflicts with her sister, who supports Hillary Clinton, who did not manage to win the last elections in the United States of America.
The actress, who plays the main character in "Roseanne" in one of her posts on the social network on Twitter on May 29, calls Valerie Jarrett, who served as an adviser to the head of state during President Barack Obama, a scion of the Planet of the Apes and the Muslim Brotherhood., included in the number of prohibited.
This post was on the network for a short time and was soon deleted by Rosanna Barr, only many managed to read it. This became the cause of a major scandal, which could not even be prevented by an apology to Valerie Jarrett.
Channing Dungi, president of ABC Entertainment, said that the actress's actions were unacceptable and completely contrary to the channel's values, and therefore the management decided to close the show. Bob Iger, who is the CEO of Disney and owns the ABC network, supported this decision and called it the only right one in such a situation.
The actress herself believes that the series is being closed unfairly. Many subscribers support Rosanna and create numerous posts on the social network in support of her. In one of these posts, there is a collage in which Valerie Jarrett and Donald Trump are depicted with monkeys. And then Barr had a question about why the current president can be compared with a monkey and this does not raise any questions for anyone, but the former adviser of the previous president cannot be compared with these animals, and for such actions they immediately begin to be accused of racism.
