Dutchman Tommy Klein, riding his bicycle to his work, drove past the terribly littered beach every day. At some point, he simply took the initiative into his own hands - and began to collect a bag of garbage every day. No, it was not his garbage, and no, no one forced him - he just did it, thus setting an excellent example for others.
“Every day I drive to work along the riverbank, and it's a great route, except for one section almost completely covered in plastic debris,” says Tommy Klein (Tommy Kleyn). - This rubbish annoyed me so much that I decided to remove it myself, since there was no one else. One bag took about half an hour. But for such a territory, one bag is nothing. And then I decided to collect one bag each time I pass this place."
Tommy shared his beginnings with friends on Facebook, and as a result, his friend Rick joined Tommy. So things, of course, went more fun and faster. In addition, some cyclists passing by this place stopped, were interested and expressed their approval. This is very motivating. "The idea was to motivate people to collect one bag of trash at least once a year. It only takes 30 minutes and the result is really amazing."
The initiative group asked the question of contamination of nature with plastic "Everything you buy is rubbish", and to draw attention to the problem, they created "everlasting sneakers" from ordinary plastic bottles, balls and canisters. It turned out gorgeous bright shoes, which, according to the assurances of its creators, even our grandchildren will be able to wear.
